Richard Pierre-Louis
Richard joins our team with years of experience and knowledge in the exercise science field. As a kinesiology undergraduate at Penn State, he spent 3 years volunteering and assisting with the training of Penn State athletes and interned his senior year as a strength coach with the Penn State football team. Upon graduating, he continued interning with both Hofstra and Stony Brook Universities before starting his career as a personal trainer with Retro Fitness in 2011. There, he continued his education by becoming certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting. Richard eventually started his own business as an in-home personal trainer, building great rapport and success with his clientele. He then decided to go back to school and earn a Masters degree in Sport Sciences.
As a trainer, Richard excels in motivating clients and pushing them to their limits. He has a passion for health and fitness and feels that it is his responsibility to give back. He uses a transformational style of coaching to encourage his clients. In his own words: “ John Wooden defines success as piece of mind obtained only through the self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to be the best in which you are capable”. Keeping with that same mind frame, Richard’s definition of success is simply “Better than you were yesterday.”
